A tough day for the U.S. Team
For the first time in the history, the United States has not won a single match in a day at the Ryder Cup.
ROSE TIES THE MATCH
Justin Rose denies the U.S. their first full point, rolling in the necessary putt for Europe to TIE the match.

It's a huge moment for this Ryder Cup, and a historic day in Rome.

Europe 6 ½ - 1 ½ USA
Max misses
The door is open for Justin Rose as Max Homa's effort slides by the hole. He has just outside eight feet to win the hole and TIE the match.
In close
Max Homa is the first to hit his third shot into the 18th. And it's GOOD. 12 Feet good.

Justin Rose responds with a shot inside his to eight feet, while Robert MacIntyre is the heart of the green and Wyndham Clark hitting from within the crowd on the right of the green.
Fitzpatrick calls first Ryder Cup point phenomenal
For me personally it's one of the greatest days. It's very special. To get off to the start we did was phenomenal.
A MOMENT FOR JON RAHM
While Scheffler and Koepka looked to have found their stride, Rahm's comeback for him and Nicolai Højgaard in match two included TWO eagles in his last three holes.

A chip in at the 16th, followed by a 33ft putt at the last.

What a way to find a tie from that match.
HEADING TO 18
Wyndham Clark had the chance to wrap up the match, but the best score on the par three 17th was a par from Justin Rose. It means Europe win back a hole, but they'll have to bring out something big and win another one if they want a tie from this match.

EUROPE 6 - 1 USA
With just one match on the course, Europe will hold a considerable advantage heading into the the second day of the 44th Ryder Cup.

The score is currently Europe 6, USA 1.
