Jon Rahm and Nicolai Højgaard tie their match Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka

What an unbelievable few holes for Rahm. He rolls that one in dead centre at some pace, and it pops up and in to the hole to secure the half.

Expert touch

Not that we should expect anything else from the World Number One, but a brilliant touch from Scottie Scheffler gives the U.S. Team a chance for birdie at the 18th.

For Rahm, it might just be eagle or bust.

2 UP with two to play

A birdie from Max Homa at the 16th leaves MacIntyre in need of holing a testing putt to tie the hole. He can't get it to drop, and it leaves the U.S Team in control of this match as they head down the 17th.

RAHM STEPS UP

The pair of Rahm and Højgaard are one down and in need of a victory at the 18th to tie their match, and the World Number Three steps up.

With Koepka, Scheffler and Højgaard all missing the green, Rahm rolls his approach up to the front of the putting surface and will have a chance at eagle.

4&3: Rory McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick beat Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele

The first full European point of the day comes from the fourth match, courtesy of Rory McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick.

During Fitzpatrick's first four-balls match in his Ryder Cup career, he earns his first point for Team Europe alongside one of the most experienced men in the team room.

Huge Drama On 18

WOW! JT nearly chips in on 18, only for Hovland to sink a 25-footer with the next shot.

That is massive for Europe and Hovland is loving it. Huge fist pumps on the green.

But JT holds his nerve with his putt from close range and the point is halved in Match 1 of Session 2. The U.S. is on the board.

Spieth Finds Water

Coming down 18 and Spieth finds the water. It's been a tough stretch for the American and it's now all on JT to bring at least half a point home for the U.S. team.

No pressure...

Rahm Leaves It Short

After two sensational tee shots, it's Scheffler who makes his putt and the Americans are 1 UP in Match 2 with just one hole to go.

Oh My Word

Rahm sticks it close at 17 and then Scheffler one-ups him with a ridiculous tee shot that lands inches from the cup and settles a couple of feet away.

This one is going down to the wire.

RIGHT AT IT

That last chip-in must have Jon Rahm inspired because he fires in a dart to the par-three 17th.

Europe were down in that match for just one hole before their fight back, but who will move back ahead?
