Sept. 23-28, 2025 Bethpage Black Course, Farmingdale, NY

With the thrilling 2018 PGA Championship in the books, all eyes are on the rosters for the 2018 Ryder Cup, which will be played at Le Golf National in France from September 28 to 30. Captain Jim Furyk knows the eight automatic qualifiers and has four choices left to make to round out his 2018 U.S. Ryder Cup team. The U.S. is looking to defend its title won at Hazeltine National Golf Club in 2016.

But first, it's time for Furyk to take the Ryder Cup trophy on tour.

COMPLETE RYDER CUP RANKINGS

Furyk kicked off a 9,000-mile, 14-city trophy tour at Yankee Stadium Monday night. Prior to the first pitch of the Subway Series between the New York Yankees and New York Mets, Furyk brought a first pitch of his own. The captain showed he had a little muscle in his cannon.

Furyk posed with Yankees manager Aaron Boone and a No. 18 jersey in honor of the 2018 U.S. Ryder Cup team, as well as Yankees centerfielder Aaron Hicks and Mets infielder Jeff McNeil.

After a night at the ballpark, Furyk and the trophy arrived on the set of the Today Show on Tuesday morning. Amongst other things, the show hosts wanted to know the one thing we all do. With four selection's remaining -- Furyk said he will announce three on September 4 and the final on September 10 -- just who will be amongst the four captain's selections?

Of course, one name stands out above the rest.

"Everyone wants to know that," Furyk said. "We got some great choices. Everyone wants to know about Tiger. He played great at the PGA, finished second. I think he said he's trending, I think that's the word he used. I'm happy he's playing well, that's all I'm going to tell you.

"Both sides are really strong. It's a clash of two titans in teams. We're trying to fill in. We want good pairings with the eight we already have. We want guys that have had a great season, maybe some hot guys here in the playoffs."

Furyk then headed to the Empire State Building for one last photo shoot with the trophy. Be on the lookout. The Ryder Cup trophy may be coming to a city near you next.
