Sept. 23-28, 2025 Bethpage Black Course, Farmingdale, NY

The 2018 Ryder Cup recently featured prominently at a special sustainable development function hosted by the French Ministry of Sport and the Natural History Museum in Paris.

Represented by Ryder Cup Europe Director Richard Hills, the French Golf Federation and GEO Foundation, the event proudly confirmed its goal of meeting the 15 Commitments contained in the government’s Charter for Sustainable Events.

Other signatories from golf that were featured at the function included Le Golf National and The Vidauban Foundation.

Richard Hills, Ryder Cup Europe Director said: “We signed up to this important commitment at the HNA Open de France last year, and since then we’ve been working hard to integrate across our planning and implementation - supported by GEO Foundation.

"The support we have received so far from our various partners, suppliers and contractors has been tremendous, and we look forward to delivering the greenest, cleanest and most sustainable Ryder Cup yet”.

Jonathan Smith, Executive Director at GEO Foundation added: “In line with the Charter, Ryder Cup Europe are taking a comprehensive approach, addressing a range of key environmental and social issues. The top-level commitment, supported by new procurement policies and careful event planning, is being met with support from suppliers and contractors, some great innovation at Le Golf National, and will, we hope resonate with the fans as the Green Drive comes to life closer to the event.”
