It took 80 holes, but Harris English is a PGA TOUR champion for the second time in 2021.
After nailing an electrifying putt on the 72nd hole, English went head-to-head with Texan Kramer Hickok in an eight-hole sudden-death playoff, before finally sinking a 16-foot birdie to claim the Travelers Championship title and his fourth career PGA TOUR victory.

English’s marathon performance is sure to catch Captain Steve Stricker’s eye, as the Georgia Bulldog finds himself squarely in Ryder Cup consideration, moving from 13th to 8th on the strength of his win.
“The Ryder Cup is where I want to play,” English said after his win. “The pinnacle of our sport is to represent your country and to play in probably one of the biggest tournaments in the world. I still need to keep playing well and keep showing [Captain] Strick that I deserve to be on the team, but looking forward to having a chance.”
Kramer Hickok’s performance earned him a spot in the top 100 for the first time, as he debuts at 64th this week. Brooks Koepka was the only other jump within the top 12, moving from 5th to 4th over Justin Thomas.
Meanwhile, Captain Stricker was making headlines of his own, winning his third PGA TOUR Champions major title in style with a six-stroke victory at the Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS Championship.
