Sept. 23-28, 2025 Bethpage Black Course, Farmingdale, NY

Seven years after capturing his first victory on the PGA Tour, Michael Thompson returned to the winner’s circle on Sunday. The 2011 PGA Tour rookie captured his second career victory at the 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota where he won by two strokes ahead of Adam Long.

With his win, Thompson jumped from No. 86 to No. 22 in the Ryder Cup point standings. It was his fifth top 10 finish of the qualifying period and moves him closer to the conversation as he looks to catch Captain Steve Stricker’s attention in vying for one of his six captain’s selections for the 2020 squad. Thompson is looking to compete on his first Ryder Cup team, having previously competed in the 2008 Palmer Cup.
