Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome is hosting the 44th Ryder Cup, but it has also been home to the past three Italian Opens on the DP World Tour.

Nobody on the U.S. Ryder Cup Team has played in any of the last three Italian Opens. However, it's a different story for the European squad.

In 2021, European Ryder Cup Team member Nicolai Højgaard emerged victorious and the following year, Ryder Cup teammates Robert MacIntyre and Matthew Fitzpatrick dueled in a playoff, which MacIntyre would win.

"The golf course is tough," MacIntyre said afterward. "You've got to drive it well and you've got to do everything well. Thankfully today, I felt so much in control of the golf ball. ... The golf course, it tests you from the first hole to the last hole. Hopefully, I can – I've got one goal for the season, for the next year, and that's to be on that Ryder Cup team back here."

Now, he is. However, the Scot isn't the only one.

Let's take a look at how members of this year's European Ryder Cup Team have fared at the Italian Open since 2021:
