Nearly 4,000 volunteers will be needed to fill a variety of roles both on and off course, including assisting with leaderboards, tee refreshments, media center services, course marshals, Ryder Cup Shops and more. Individuals who previously served as volunteers during the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits will first be offered the opportunity to return as a 2020 Ryder Cup volunteer. The 2015 PGA Championship volunteers will receive an email with instructions on how to indicate their interest. Remaining volunteer spots will be filled with qualified applicants through a random draw process beginning in spring 2019. All applicants will be notified via email when the random draw is completed.
“The 2020 Ryder Cup will be the most significant sporting event ever held in Wisconsin, making it a once in a lifetime opportunity for fans to take part in,” said Tess Anschutz, Volunteer Operations Manager for the 2020 Ryder Cup. “It takes thousands of dedicated volunteers who will play vital roles in the competition’s success and welcome fans from around the globe to our great state.”
Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older and will be asked to work at least four 4-hour shifts during Ryder Cup week. Those ultimately selected and who accept a volunteer position will be required to pay a fee in exchange for the official Ryder Cup volunteer uniform by Ralph Lauren; the fee also includes parking, food, beverages and more. Volunteers will also receive a personalized credential for all six days of the event.
