Clutch from Rose
Match three is living up to its billing.

Rose looked in danger of falling two holes behind against Cantlay after missing the green at the short fourth but he got up and down courtesy of a nerveless ten-foot par putt to tie the hole.

Europe up in five matches
Hatton birdies the first from ten feet to go 1 UP.

In other news, Fitzpatrick holes a clutch 12-footer for par and a half after a ragged tee-shot.

The home fans are in dreamland right now.
McIlroy goes 2 UP
What pressure?

Burns managed to hole his lengthy par putt to make McIlroy's job even harder but he was up to the task.

He nervelessly slotted in his birdie effort from ten feet to put Europe 2 UP in match four.

You feel Scheffler needed that
An excellent approach into the sixth leaves him five feet again for the win.......this time he makes it.

That putter needs to get going because Rahm won't give him an inch.
McIlroy turns the screw
McIlroy is really putting on a show out there.

He gives himself a ten-foot birdie putt at the third, while Burns is 13 feet away having played a shot more.

Can he stretch his advantage?

Cantlay means business
Cantlay is the U.S. Team's only red spot on a very blue leaderboard so far and he is really laying down the gauntlet.

He lifted his approach at the third to 12 feet, with Rose much further out, but the American couldn't capitalise and had to settle for a tied hole. He remains 1 UP.
Leads extended in matches one and two
A beautiful up-and-down from Rahm at the driveable par-four fifth and Scheffler misses from five feet from a half.

Hovland also gets up and down for par at the par-three fourth - Morikawa cannot and Europe have the big mo in the top two matches.
Fire and ice
The mild-mannered, quiet assassin Brian Harman up against the Tyrrell-Hattonesque Tyrrell Hatton (if anyone's adjective is simply themself it's Tyrrell).

Both in the rough on opposite side of the first fairway.
McIlroy goes close but remains 1 UP
McIlroy sent his approach at the second to inside 20 feet while Burns was some 15 yards away in the fringe grass.

But with McIlroy unable to roll in his birdie effort and Burns securing his par, the hole was tied.
